All systems in our data centers are monitored 24x7. Monitoring includes, but is not limited to, Ping monitors, disk, CPU, and memory utilization, content/URL monitoring for all Web applications, database connectivity, and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) monitoring of hardware instrumentation—temperature, power supplies, RAID, fans, CPU temp, etc.
We use large displays in our NOC to alert our engineering staff of any outages or potential problems with all monitors. Monitors are set up not only to inform our staff when services are affected, but also to monitor indicators that may show a potential problem before it becomes service affecting so it can be resolved without impact to the customer.

In Partnership with Peer1
PEER 1 Hosting operates 16 state-of-the art datacenters in 14 cities across North America and Europe and 19 network points of presence (PoPs). Most are full service Colocation facilities. These locations include New York NY, Miami FL, Toronto ON, Vancouver BC, Los Angeles CA, and Portsmouth UK. The highly secure and redundant IT infrastructure of our datacenters protects your servers, web presence and business. In other words, we do everything humanly possible to keep you online all of the time.
24x7x365 In-House Network Operations Center and Datacenter Support
Our Network Operations Center (NOC) is unlike any other hosting provider’s, in that it is in-house and constantly monitors and controls all traffic on our FastFiber Network™ inside and outside of our datacenters. When you have an issue, they handle it personally, so it gets resolved quickly.
Our engineers and datacenter personnel manage every aspect of our facilities around the clock, as well. From security, to deploying devices, to handling the day-to day needs of our customers’ solutions, they are ready to act whenever you need them.
SSAE 16, CSAE 3416, and ISAE 3402 Certified
Our customers face an ever increasing compliance burden, and this is why PEER 1 Hosting is compliant with standards of SSAE 16, CSAE 3416, and ISAE 3402. These accreditations reflect controls which are in place over a period of time, commonly referred to within the industry as Type II. Our SSAE 16 certification, or equivalent (CSAE 3416 and ISAE 3402), shifts a bit of the financial reporting burden from our customers to PEER 1, as our customers can use our certification report to satisfy their own auditors. What this means is that we have undergone independent, in-depth audits of our control activities, including how we manage the hosting and network technologies and services that we provide to our customers. We renew this certification annually as it ensures that our internal controls are kept to the highest standards.
PEER 1 Hosting is also a Microsoft® Gold Certified Partner, Red Hat® Advanced Hosting Partner, and Safe Harbor certified.
Member of the Center for Internet Security
PEER 1 Hosting is a member of CIS (Center for Internet Security). CIS is a nonprofit organization that serves as a central resource for the development and delivery of high-quality, timely products and services to assist its partners in government, academia, the private sector, and the general public in improving their cyber security posture. CIS Security Benchmarks, a division of CIS, is a community of organizations and individuals seeking actionable security resources. As part of this community, PEER 1 has access to Consensus Security Configuration Benchmarks, Scoring Tools, Consensus Security Metric definitions, and discussion forums where we are an integral stakeholder in collaborating on security best practices.
PEER 1 has leveraged these resources to develop Hardened Operating System templates that are available to PEER 1 customers who need an extra level of security to comply with Requirement 2.3 of the PCI DSS Standards.
Regulated Climate Control
Our heating ventilation air conditioning (HVAC) systems have full particle filtering and humidity control. The climate within each of our datacenters is maintained according to ASHRAE Guidelines. This ensures your mission-critical dedicated server and hardware is functioning at its best.
Redundant Power — Just in Case
Unlike some providers, we don't rely solely on the local power grid to guarantee around-the-clock power. Our onsite diesel-powered generators and uninterruptible power systems (UPS) deliver redundant power if a critical incident occurs, so that all operations are uninterrupted and your dedicated servers remain online. We regularly test our infrastructure to make sure it performs as designed in the event of an emergency. And we back it all up with our 100% Power Service Level Agreement (SLA) and 100% Network Uptime SLA.
Serious About Security
Our datacenters are locked and guarded, and can only be accessed by authorized PEER 1 Hosting personnel and our Colocation customers within our colocation pods. Monitored closed circuit television systems and onsite security teams vigilantly protect our datacenters around the clock, while military-grade pass card access and biometric finger scan units provide even further security.
